General Question

Hearing loss is often a gradual process, and many individuals may not initially recognize its onset. Some signs that you may be experiencing hearing loss include:

• Frequently asking others to repeat themselves.
• Difficulty following conversations, particularly in noisy environments or over the phone.
• Perceiving others' speech as mumbling.
• Inability to hear certain high-pitched sounds, such as birds singing.
• Needing to increase the volume on electronic devices like televisions or computers.
• Experiencing tinnitus, or ringing in the ears.
• Experiencing earaches or discomfort.
• Sensation of pressure or fluid in the ears.
• Experiencing balance issues or dizziness.

Wearing hearing aids can help manage hearing loss by amplifying sounds and improving your ability to hear and communicate. However, hearing aids do not cure or reverse hearing loss. They enhance your remaining hearing ability and make speech and other sounds clearer and more audible.

Age-related hearing loss is progressive and your hearing slowly gets worse over time, so it's easy to overestimate your hearing abilities. Ceretone offers free hearing test you can take online so you can quickly and accurately understand your current degree of hearing loss.

Ceretone OTC hearing aids are designed specifically for mild to moderate hearing loss. For severe hearing loss, we recommend consulting with a hearing healthcare professional for hearing aid options.

Ceretone offers two styles of hearing aids: Invisible-in-canal (IIC) and Behind-the-ear (BTE). Core One is an IIC hearing aid, which is the smallest custom hearing aids available and are designed and molded to fit perfectly inside your ear canal. Beacon is a BTE hearing aid, which sits behind the ear and is connected to an earmold that fits inside the ear canal.

We include different sizes of domes in your Ceretone box, ensuring that most individuals can find a comfortable fit.Note: You might need a different sized dome for each ear. If you feel discomfort, please try changing the dome.

Ceretone devices are hearing aids. They are exempt medical devices registered with the FDA and are subject to FDA regulations concerning standards for performance.

While hearing aids and PSAPs both amplify sound for the user, the devices have different intended uses. Hearing aids are intended to make up for impaired hearing. PSAPs, in contrast, are intended for people with normal hearing to amplify sounds in certain situations. Because such PSAPs are regulated as consumer electronics and not medical devices, they may be more variable in terms of product quality compared to hearing aids.

If you have never had your hearing tested before and are wondering if you need hearing aids, the Ceretone online hearing test can provide recommendations and let you know if Ceretone hearing aids can help improve your current hearing loss. You can use the results to obtain a customized hearing solution through Ceretone hearing aids.

Ceretone currently has two models of hearing aids. Core One does not have Bluetooth functionality. Beacon can easily connect to Android and iOS smartphones via Bluetooth for calls, music, and media streaming.

The coverage of hearing aids by insurance in the United States can vary depending on the specific insurance plan and state regulations. Some insurance plans may cover a portion of the cost of hearing aids, while others may not cover them at all.

Additionally, Medicare does not typically cover hearing aids, although it may cover diagnostic hearing evaluations if they are ordered by a doctor. Some state Medicaid programs may cover hearing aids for eligible individuals.

It's important to check with your insurance provider directly to understand what hearing-related services are covered by your plan, and if there are any limitations or requirements for coverage.

A number of things can cause your hearing aids to whistle. Here are the most common reasons for feedback and how to resolve them.
1. A poor fit: Whistling can happen if the device is not fitting correctly.Remove the device and try a larger dome size.
Make sure they are sitting nice and tight in your ear.
2.Too high volume: If the feedback is too loud, consider reducing the volume level of your phone as well, to a more comfortable level.
3. Too much earwax: Prioritize clean ears by ensuring they are free from wax or debris, as this can affect the effectiveness of the hearing aid.
